AUDITIONS FOR 2025/26:
The Paper Bag Princess
Please Note: Carousel Theatre for Young People’s mainstage productions are performed by professional adult actors. Occasionally, there may be a child actor in the cast depending on the production. These children are also professional actors.
Carousel Theatre for Young People is holding auditions for their production of The Paper Bag Princess adapted by Alissa Watson, based on The Paper Bag Princess © 1980 Bob Munsch Enterprises Ltd (text) and Michael Martchenko (art), published by Annick Press. Performed at The Waterfront Theatre.
About the show:
Elizabeth, along with her three older sisters, Julia, Marg and Bethany, is in training to be a Well-rounded Princess by practicing the “Princess-ples”: a princess is Positively Placid, Positively Patient, Positively Poised, Positively Precious and Positively Perfect. Her father, the King, has plans for her to be Queen one day but everything changes when the Dragon arrives. In spite of the frequent dragon drills, conducted by Sir Puffy, Ronald is captured by the Dragon and taken away, leaving Elizabeth’s castle – and clothing – in smoking ruins. It’s up to her to track the Dragon down and rescue Prince Ronald - learning important lessons about being a Princess along the way. Recommended for 3+
